NEW YEAR DINNER The ACO held our annual Chinese New Year Dinner & Karaoke after a one year hiatus. It was held on Friday, February 3rd, 2012, at the Very Fair Seafood Restaurant in Scarborough. One hundred and fifty-five people participated in this fun event: Dr. Jean Moss of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), Dr. Linda Rapson of the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute, and president Professor Qiu Wei Ling of the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada were some of the many special guests who attended the dinner. CMCC sponsored the dinner and karaoke, and CMCC Alumni Affairs & CMCC Supply & Bookstore; Eastern Currents Distributing; Electro-Therapeutic Devices Inc. (ETD Inc); Innovative Choices, Inc.; Kosim Medical Innovations Equipment N Supplies; Naturest; Mediflow; Seroyal, TheraGear Inc.; and Dr. Ping Ping Zhang, M.D. (China), M.S.C.M., C.M.D., L.Ac., DIP.AC. were also very generous in their gift donations. This year the ACO gave a tumbler as its gift to every participant. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) The 2012 AGM will be held Sunday, April 15th at CMCC.
BACKS IN MOTION The ACO also sponsored CMCCs Backs in Motion Run this year as we do every year. Dr. Paul Ho enjoyed representing the ACO by participating in the run itself and helping with the awards ceremony afterwards. He also represented the ACO at Backswing 2009 when he teed off at the DiamondBack Golf Club in Markham on September 23rd, 2009. ACO Entrance Exam The next entrance exam for ACO membership will be To be announced. The exam is for chiropractors and medical doctors that have taken
recognized acupuncture training programs other than the CMCC clinical
acupuncture program. As of December 31st, 2003, the ACO will no longer give
credit hours for any courses through privately run acupuncture programs. For further information please call the ACO office at 416 929 5888 ACO GENERAL NOTICE As of September 1st, 2006 any member of the Acupuncture
Council of Ontario (ACO) who has allowed their membership to lapse greater
than 2 years will be required to obtain 12 continuing education hours per 2
year term and will automatically have to write a reinstatement exam.
Reinstatement and exam fees plus membership fees for the entire period of
lapsed membership must be paid. This addition was voted on at the ACO Annual
General Meeting held on April 2nd, 2006. |
